Resize Video
Resize a video to custom width and height or a common resolution. Runs entirely in your browser and exports MP4 — no upload.
About this tool
Change a video to the dimensions you need for social platforms, messaging or a website. Pick a common resolution or enter an exact width and height; aspect ratio stays locked by default to prevent stretching. Processing happens locally in your browser and exports a new MP4.
How to use
- Click or drag to select a video file
- Choose a common resolution or enter the target width and height
- Keep aspect ratio locked to avoid stretching, or unlock it for an exact canvas size
- Click "Resize video" and download the new MP4 file
FAQ
Will resizing stretch my video?
Not by default. Aspect ratio is locked, so changing one dimension automatically updates the other. Unlock it only when you intentionally need an exact width and height.
Can resizing improve video quality?
No. Enlarging adds pixels but cannot restore detail that was not in the original. Downscaling is best for reducing file size or meeting a platform requirement.
Why does resizing take time?
Changing video dimensions requires decoding and re-encoding every frame locally in your browser. Time depends on the video length, resolution and your device.
Are my videos uploaded to a server?
No. All decoding and encoding runs locally in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
