Which quality preset should I choose?
High keeps the most detail for archiving or further editing. Medium is the best balance for everyday sharing and usually cuts size by more than half. Low is for when size matters most, like messaging apps with strict limits.
Why does compressing a large video take a while?
Everything runs on your own device — no server is doing the work for you. Re-encoding video is CPU-intensive, so long or high-resolution files can take a few minutes. The upside: your video never leaves your device.
Should I lower the resolution too?
Resolution is the biggest lever: a 4K video downscaled to 1080p shrinks dramatically. If the video will only be watched on phones, 720p is often enough and looks fine.
Are my videos uploaded to a server?
